Sorbalgon^® Classic is a calcium alginate-based dressing made from natural fibers derived from marine algae.

It is designed to be highly and rapidly absorbent. Upon contact with exudate, it forms a non-adhesive hydrophilic gel that maintains a moist environment conducive to healing and facilitates painless removal.

Intended use

It is indicated for the treatment of external wounds, including superficial wounds, moderately to heavily exuding wounds, pressure ulcers, diabetic leg ulcers, venous or arterial leg ulcers, donor sites, and post-surgical wounds.

Clinical benefits

The gelled structure helps maintain a moist microenvironment and contributes to trapping germs in the gel during the material transformation.

The dressing does not adhere to the wound bed, reducing trauma upon removal and making it suitable for cost-effective and targeted use based on the size of the lesion.
